This project currently does not have anyone working on it beyond the creation of this report. Feel free to use the information and begin contacting stakeholders at OPERS and the University to get the project up and running.
A number of student projects have looked into the idea of converting gym equipment at OPERS into electricity-generating machines. The Student Environmental Center's Transportation Campaign has three energy-generating bicycles that are used to power speakers and blenders at events throughout the year. During Fall Quarter 2013, the campaign conducted some research regarding how OPERS could have energy-generating machines, as described in the report posted here.
The original intention was the create an educational display to house in OPERS using one of these bikes, but the interns working on the project have decided not to continue with the Campaign. This project currently does not have students to work on the next steps, which is why it's posted on the Project Clearinghouse. Please feel free to use the information in this report to get the project up and running!
