Project Description: 

2013-2014

-Hosted 4th Annual Sustainability Inter-Organizational Retreat, which was attended by more than 120 students and staff from sustainability organizations across campus.

-Engaged in conversation about sustainability with 1076 UCSC and Santa Cruz community members at 35 tabling opportunities.

-Added 332 new people to our e-newsletter list, obtained 140 new followers on Twitter, and 270 new likes on Facebook, broadening the network of people we are in contact with regularly about sustainability on campus.

-Presented about campus sustainability to resident advisors, tour guides, and orientation leaders so that they can include sustainability information and resources in their programs and tours.

-Created aSustainability Living LabMap featuring places on campus where sustainability projects, classes, and opportunities exist.

-Hosted a Spring Sustainability Fest event that featured presentations, a poster session, awards, and lunch for 86 participants.

-Promoted and engaged the campus about zero waste in the Chancellor's Sustainability Challenge, with 809 people taking zero waste pledges.

Metrics for Success: 

Our success will be measured by the number of people we engage with while tabling, the number of people who receive the monthly newsletter and by the number of followers on social media sites.

2012-2013

Newsletter: At the end of June 2013, we had 2,028 recipients for our newsletter with a 21% open rate.

Tabling: 36% of the people we talked to at tabling events signed up for our monthly newsletter and 20% of people made a "simply committed" commitment.

Blog: We had an average of 1,265 page views on our blog.

Facebook: At the end of June 2013, we had 458 likes on Facebook.

2013-2014

Newsletter: At the end of June 2014, we had 2,311 recipients for our newsletter with a 28% open rate.

Tabling: 31% of the people we talked to at tabling events signed up for our monthly newsletter and 51% of people made a "chancellor's challenge" commitment.

Blog: We had an average of 3,221 page views on our blog.

Facebook: At the end of May 2014, we had 816 likes on Facebook.

2014-2015

Newsletter: At the end of June 2015, we had 2,453 recipients for our newsletter with a 29% open rate.

Tabling: 63% of the people we talked to at tabling events signed up for our monthly newsletter and 34% of people made a sustainable commitment.

Blog: We had an average of 3,487 page views on our blog.

Facebook: At the end of August 2015, we had 1,095 likes on Facebook.

2015-2016

Newsletter: At the end of June 2016, we had 2,403 recipients for our newsletter with a 29% open rate.

Tabling: 55% of the people we talked to at tabling events signed up for our monthly newsletter and 19% of people made a sustainable commitment.

Blog: We had an average of 3,176 page views on our blog.

Facebook: At the end of July 2015, we had 1,226 likes on Facebook.
