Project Description: 

This Digital Storytelling project aims to communicate the goals and methods of the DROPS team to the Santa Cruz community. A documentary is to be made that narrates the issues around water sustainability in Santa Cruz and document the proposed solutions spearheaded at Bayview Elementary.

Interviews with Santa Cruz city council members talking about their knowledge on the current water sustainability systems and their opinions of the DROPS project will be filmed. The construction at Bayview where various rainwater catchment systems are being put into place will also be filmed. Footage of the excessive flooding that occurs throughout the city will also be included in the film. The documentary will be supported by an outside media team, who will help with identifying the vision of the film and assist in the post-production editing.

Metrics for Success: 

The film should accurately depict the goals and results of the DROPS project.

Next Steps: 
Interviews with various city members need to be scheduled and filmed. Construction at the elementary school needs to begin and filmed. B-roll of flooding and rain in the city needs to be filmed.
