DESCRIPTION:
Goal 1. To increase the awarenss regarding the decline of the number of drinking fountains, that are accessable to the public, outside of secured buildings.

Goal 2. To create a sustainable multi disciplinary effort to address this issue of declining numbers of working drinking fountains available to the public in our communities.

Goal 3. To repair, maintain, install, and expand the number of accssable working outdoor public drinking fountains at College 8, in Santa Cruz, througout California, and across the nation.

As a cyclist, I am often looking for water along the way. I have found over the years that most drinking water is located in stores for sale, at drinking fountains inside buildings, or not available.

I can ride on to find water elsewhere, but I can imagine others may not be so able. Like food deserts, there are literally drinking water deserts throughout California.

The Quality of Life can be greatly increased for all if we increase the access to drinking water.

Finding two fountains at College 8 and one at Family Student Housing, all broken and dry, finally drove me to act on this long term concern that I have.
