2020 Freezer Incentive Program

Sustainability Problem and Proposed Solution: 

Laboratory's want efficient fridges and freezers but they don't pay the utility bill so it's hard to justify purchasing more expensive and more efficient freezers on limited budgets. So all too often, in-efficient, non Energy Star fridges and freezers are purchased.

The Green Labs program will offer incentives to PI's looking to purchase freezers.

Metrics for Success: 

At least 10 freezers incentivized.

Results: 

Ultra Low Temp freezers can use the same amount of energy as an average American home! Getting freezers that are 20% or more efficient will have huge utility and emission savings.
