With funding from the Carbon Fund, this will help us buy materials to implement sustainability projects which will be constructed and implemented by student employees and volunteers. Projects that we have asked for funding for include building an improved compost system that takes in compost from on-campus residential housing, installing a rain collection and irrigation system, building a vermiculture system as well as planting fruit trees and vegetables. Students are given a unique opportunity to help make these proposals a reality, and through our hands-on and horizontal learning structure students can gain the experience needed to build confidence to do similar projects on their own. While the worm bin and upgraded composting structure is still in the works and will be completed in the following school year, many of our goals have been accomplished already.
