A typical incandescent light bulb uses about 3285kWh per year, which costs $328.59 per year while a LEDs uses 329kWh per year that cost $32.85 per year. On a yearly basis, the usual incandescent light bulb will release 4500 pounds of carbon while LEDs will only emit 451 pounds of carbon. Also since we are going from incandescent to LED we are skipping the interim fluorescent bulb stage that has mercury and is processed as hazardous waste.
