We will develop a recreational land use plan to define, identify and prioritize natural infrastructure and measure the effects of human activity on campus lands and watersheds. We will also elevate and sustain campus climate, culture and brand that values stewardship by interviewing students as stakeholders in developing the recreational land use plan. During fall quarter we will meet with stakeholders, research case studies and policy, and begin environmental monitoring and mapping. During winter quarter, we will continue with this research under winter storm conditions. This research will focus on how trail usage affects red legged frogs, an endangered species and salamanders. In the spring, we will also look at the impacts on Ohlone Tiger Beetles, an endangered species. During the spring quarter the Recreational Land Use Management Plan for the Campus’s Natural Lands will be written.
