The goal of this project was to create a handbook for future interns of the Stevenson Garden that will provide them with the resources and information necessary to keep the garden as a successful and progressive project for years to come. This goal was accomplished by keeping intricate records of interesting and difficult occurrences and obstacles in the garden over the next two years, and putting these observations into easy to understand terms for the interns. Examples of such resources are, previous yearly crop plans, contact information for administrators and campus planners, solutions to pest problems, etc. In deciding what information was worthy enough of being included in the book, the process is simple in that descriptions and solutions for every single problem are included, as well as contact information for any person that had ever had a minor stake in the gardens establishment.

The beneficial impacts of this project are that the garden will continue to be successfully run, bringing organic produce to the community of Stevenson. The entirety of Stevenson and its visitors will be positively affected because they will get to reap the benefits of having local, organic produce provided directly to them on a seasonal basis. There is no other option of addressing the issue of guidance for future interns because there is no other way of compiling mass amounts of easily distributable material. The handbook is replicable in that it is a how-to guide of best practices for organic gardening in climate zone 8B, otherwise known as the northern central valley. The guidebook can be used by other colleges within UCSC to start their own gardens in accordance with the CSP, and they can develop and add to it based on their own findings as well.
