Wonderfil at UCSC

Sustainability Problem and Proposed Solution: 

Every time a person wants to take care of their basic hygiene, they are forced to use products carried in plastic-- this plastic will last hundreds of years in a landfill for just a few weeks of use. Wonderfil is solving the single-use plastic problem in toiletries by eliminating the demand. Wonderfil's kiosks on UCSC's campus will function like a water bottle refill station, but for shampoo, conditioner, and soap.

Project Description: 

Wonderfil aims to design and fabricate two Wonderfil refill kiosks on UCSC's campus. The kiosks work by allowing students to purchase body care products, such as shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, and dispenses the product into a refillable container. The kiosks need to be designed, tested, and fabricated and will be UCSC's campus for student use by summer 2021.

Metrics for Success: 

The success of the project will be measured by the kiosk's design, functionality, and student use.

Results: 

Wonderfil's project will produce two autonomous kiosks for UCSC's campus that dispense liquid and cream toiletry products.
